It is with great sadness that we are formally announcing the cancellation of LIPopCon 2018.
We have heard your feedback and it is clear that the current LIPopCon convention all-day format is not ideal and is preventing library staff from attending.
What we have decided to do — and we can’t thank our amazing guest speakers enough for supporting this — is to take our most exciting program sessions and have them hosted as individual NCLA-sponsored events at participating libraries (this is why many of you recently received a specialized ranking survey). Those sessions will be spread out over the remainder of 2018. That should make it easier for library managers to schedule staff coverage, while still actively helping librarians gather professional development credits.
We want to thank our terrific sponsors NCLA, Farmingdale Public Library, and St. John’s University. Our featured guests, panelists, and keynote speaker have been hugely understanding about this situation.
But, most importantly, we want to thank YOU! We appreciate all of the positive support you have given us over the last few years.
Refund instructions for LIPopCon 2018 registrants will be sent shortly.
Stay tuned for an upcoming date/time/venue announcement for our next NCLA Pop Culture Committee event!

The LIPopCon Executive Committee
